Meher Rehmen

Meher is a Muslim feminist and senior anti-violence leader based in both Chicago and New Delhi, India. She brings a feminist and intersectional justice lens to her work on anti-violence. Meher has successfully led a range of social justice initiatives across the globe. Her expertise spans gender justice, immigrant rights, reproductive justice, and youth empowerment, supporting community-based organizations and international agencies in South and East Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and North America.

As a senior advisor at Survivors Know, she assists with strategic partnerships for movement building while also being extensively involved in overall organization development. As the Director of Capacity Building at The Network, Meher oversees training, public education, and technical assistance for 50 member organizations and allied agencies. Her overall work focuses on building knowledge and skills around the intersections of systemic oppression, gender and community violence and mass incarceration as well as exploring community-based decarceral solutions to addressing these issues.

Meher serves on the boards of the Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness, Middle Eastern Immigrants & Refugee Alliance, and Survivors Know. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from New Delhi, India, and a Nonprofit Executive Leadership Certificate from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

She lives in Chicago and is an avid traveler, as well as a passionate enthusiast of music and the arts.
